Cat with “Cattitude” stands daily at the shelter door until she finds her dream home

Last year, Exploits Valley SPCA received a cat by the name of Sassy in search of a better life. She was assessed to be three years youthful and loaded with a lot of backtalk and mentality.

Sassy has a sweet, pouty face, one quirky ear, and distinctive markings that give her a beautiful, regal presence. She was upset that she was taken to a noisy, crowded shelter. “She just needed some time to get used to it,” the Exploits Valley SPCA said.

She had everything she needed, including a room that was large and comfortable, at the shelter.
Sassy discovered her cat roommates as she explored the shelter and warmed up to her human companions. She wasn’t sure about them at first, but her people reassured her and she eventually accepted them.

She found an entryway with a window prompting the passage. With her front paws resting on the window frame, she could stand on her tiptoes and observe the passing traffic. She used that window to quickly access the “outside” world.

Sassy started to hang out by the entryway consistently and trusted that somebody would come in and bring her back home. Sassy, an adult cat with a cattiness of her own, kept coming back to her room day after day.

“She’s the kind of feline who could do without being pet or gotten constantly, just when she chooses. Additionally, she would adore being a spoiled cat. It’s a certain bet she would be battled about if she was a little cat.”

Sassy waited patiently for the ideal family to enter the house each week and every month. To prevent her from feeling alone, volunteers alternated keeping her company.

“At the shelter, she was beginning to feel depressed. In one room (with different felines) for quite a long time. She was unhappy here, which is understandable.”

Sassy’s long-awaited quest came to an end when she found the family she had been hoping for after spending about 200 days at the shelter.

Paulette fell in love with Sassy the moment she saw a post about her on the internet. She made an immediate arrangement for a meet-and-greet with the cat because she adored everything about her, including her sass and quirks.

The tabby girl captivated Paulette and her family to the point where nothing could stop them from wanting to adopt her.
“Not all animals are perfect right away, and many are not happy in a shelter setting.” The Exploits Valley SPCA stated, “Their true personalities come out when they are in a home, where they have time to adjust and lots of love.”

Molly, the tabby’s new name, has made her feel right at home and become the center of attention she’s always wanted to be.

Molly has found a comfortable spot by the window where she can spend her daily feline time. She has a lot of blankets to lie on and is lavished with love and attention from her family and friends.

“Molly has settled in nicely nine days later. Paulette shared, “She loves playing and snoozing on the couch, following her new mama around at all times.”
