Hippo Therapy. Hannah, the hippo says “Yes, please!”

Hannah Shirley, the adored ambassador hippo, wanted to remind people of how important it is to prioritize self-care.

For instance, Hannah likes to add a little garnish to her water to make it look better and make it more fun to drink.

She also enjoys giving her tough exterior a special mud bath at the Ramona Wildlife Center of the San Diego Humane Society, where she has lived for a long time.

Andy Blue from the Ramona Wildlife Center stated, “She’s got a heated barn with straw.”

Blue will never forget the day in 2002 when someone reported that an Escondido homeowner was allegedly keeping a hippopotamus in their backyard. He admitted, “I honestly thought it was going to be a pig or something like that.”

However, it was, in fact, a hippo.

That day, Blue brought Hannah straight to the Ramona Wildlife Center of the San Diego Humane Society, where she has been lavishly lived for the past 21 years.

In a video that showed Hannah’s level of care, one of her caregivers said, “It’s a good life.”

Also, discussing hydrating waters and spoiling, Hannah’s feeding remedy should contain water from Ponce de León’s wellspring of youth since dwarf hippos typically simply live to be around 25 years of age in the wild, and Hannah’s pushing 50.
