One evening after a long day at work, Ray got into bed next to his sleeping wife and dozed off.
Ray died in his sleep, remarked St. Peter as he awoke before the Pearly Gates.
‘I’m dead?’ Ray exclaimed in shock. I’m not, I can’t! Send me back, I have too much to live for!
There is only one way you can return, and that is as a chicken, St. Peter declared.
Ray was heartbroken but pleaded with St. Peter to transfer him to a farm close to his house.
The next thing he knew, he was pecking the ground and covered in feathers.
So, you’re the new hen, huh? a rooster said as he passed. Your first day here, how was it?
Ray the hen said, “Not bad, but I have this weird feeling inside like I’m going to explode!”
The rooster said, “You’re ovulating. Don’t tell me you’ve never laid an egg before.”
Never, Ray answered.
The rooster responds, “Well, just relax and let it happen.” No big thing, really.
He did, and an egg suddenly emerged after a few awkward seconds!
As he became a parent, he was overtaken with emotion.
His excitement was great as he soon lay another egg.
He heard a hit on the back of his head and felt it just as he was about to deposit his third egg.
Ray, get up! “You feces on the bed!”
