Subway Restaurant Criticized for ‘Poor Taste’ After Putting Titanic Joke on Sign

Due to the exterior sign’s mockery of the OceanGate Titan submarine, a US Subway restaurant received backlash.

It turns out that a good laugh isn’t quite ready for the notion of five individuals perish in a “catastrophic implosion” at a large depth of the ocean just yet.

The five people aboard the OceanGate submersible were traveling to the Titanic wreck in the Atlantic Ocean from Newfoundland, which was around 600 kilometers away.

But an hour and a half into their drop to the 12,500-foot ocean below, they lost contact, and later found wreckage indicates that the experimental vehicle had a catastrophic problem and imploded, killing everyone on board almost instantly.

As a result, the father and son passengers Shahzada and Suleman Dawood, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, British billionaire Hamish Harding, French diver Paul-Henry Nargeolet, and other passengers are now all dead.

The owners of a Subway restaurant in Georgia nevertheless made fun of it in spite of this.

There was a sign outside the Rincon Subway restaurant that read, “Our subs don’t implode.” Given what transpired, it is evident that many people who saw that sign saw that it is definitely offensive. It’s most likely much too soon in any situation.

The sign had apparently been removed, and the store manager for that particular Subway reportedly confirmed to local media that no more comments would be made. On Reddit, someone asked, “Is it tasteless? There is a sizable crowd present to express their opinions, and yes, it is Subway.

It was hotly debated whether or not the joke was more repulsive than Subway’s food. However, a customer on Twitter sent a picture along with the caption: “This is in your store in Rincon, GA. “Do better.” Not only is it offensive, but it’s also depressing.

Another commenter said: “Is this what we’re doing right now? making mockery of those who suffered fatalities.”

A third person remarked, “This is at best tacky. Georgia’s Rincon. Better yourself, Subway. “@SUBWAY people literally lost their lives and you advertise with a joke on @OceanGateExped,” read the fourth comment. I hope your Rincon location is shut down and that everyone on staff is fired for their misbehavior.

“We have been in contact with the franchise about this matter and made it clear that this kind of comment has no place in our business,” a Subway representative said.Since then, the sign has been taken down.
