Garrett made his acting debut in the sixth-highest grossing movie of 1969, Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, when he was just five years old. Nevertheless, everyone anticipated a successful career for him due to his performance, which was exceptionally good.

“I don’t think I was a very mature 16-year-old,’ I said. I was a youngster, but I was treated like an adult, so I rapidly got mature since I was constantly among grownups who were drinking and using cocaine. Furthermore, everything came straight out of my pocket.
“You know, I probably have the most loyal following I could ever hope for,” he concluded. Through good times and bad, they have supported me. And as you are aware, I have put myself in some difficult situations. Bad choices were made frequently. I didn’t have the parental supervision I should have had at the time, though, at the same time.
As a result of legal issues, Garrett entered and exited rehab several times. Then, he was persuaded to participate in the VH1 reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, which he later said was the cause of his drama relapse.
“They asked to get some footage of me using, and I said, “I haven’t been using,”” Garrett claimed in an interview with the LA Times. We must acquire video of you utilizing, they declared. I was persuaded to show them, though, without any resistance.
The once-loved child star, Leif Garrett, is now 61 and sober.
