Dog is saved from drowning in a river by a man who leaves his own birthday party

At the point when Gabe Castellanos, 38, got up on the morning of his birthday, he’d no thought that before the day’s over, he’d be proclaimed as a symbol in the media.

A noise coming from the water caught Gabe’s attention as he was enjoying his outdoor birthday celebration near the East River in New York. He noticed, when he looked at the noise, that a black-and-white dog was struggling to stay in the water.

Gabe jumped into action. Before jumping into the water, he quickly made his way to the pier, scrubbed his pants all the way down to his underwear, and put on a life jacket.

As soon as he swam to the dog she quickly turned around and sniffed his hand and face. He purposefully continued to push the dog until he reached the reinforcement’s safety, ignoring his own blood and pain.

The two were cheered on by onlookers, and a helicopter can be seen swimming above to provide assistance to the dog. Once the dog reached land, she was eventually reunited with her owner.

Harper, the dog, is said to have escaped from her dog walker, which was struck by a car.

Gabe attributes his ability to save the dog to his council-learned ocean survival skills. Additionally, he sustained injuries. He has a bite mark on his hand and face, and the dog also hit him in the teeth, so he is now seeing dental form.

We’re sorry Gabe was hurt, but we’re so glad Harper is alright. We are certain that Harper, as well as her owner, is truly grateful for everything that Gabe accomplished that special day.
