It’s always difficult to say goodbye to a close friend. Now that Ricochet the golden retriever has passed away, many of us feel that way.
She was 15 when she passed away, and while she was still alive, she helped raise more than $1 million for charity. Over a million bowls of food for sheltered animals were given as part of this charity.
Ricochet was trained to be a therapy dog, but they eventually discovered that she had a remarkable talent.

Her owner, Judy Fridono, told the Chicago Tribune that she had been trained as a service dog, but she preferred to be outside and chase birds rather than perform her job.

Ricochet demonstrated differentlyFirst-everthe in 2009 that she was more than just a service dog. She bounced on a surfboard with Patrick Ivison, a quadriplegic surfer, and a viral legend was conceived.
According to the Chicago Tribune, when Fridono was interviewed in 2012, she talked about how Ricochet came back to life when she and Patrick jumped on the surfboard.
Such hero dogs will remain in our memory forever.
