The 19-year-old cat’s life was saved due to the support of the cummunity

The community in Ashville, New York has truly managed to bring luck to a lovely cat.

Libby the cat has lived at the Ashville Free Library for a long time, and she has delighted both library staff members and visitors.

Sadly, due to her advanced age, Libby’s health has begun to deteriorate, and the library was having difficulty paying for her medical care.

The library began a GoFundMe to assist with covering her doctor’s visit expenses. They said that Libby is “the Ashville Library’s treasured kitty” in the post.

The library proceeded to express that at 19 years old, Libby’s well-being began to decline, and with that, comes numerous clinical costs.

Surprisingly, the community came together to raise more than double the $1,500 goal set by GoFundMe! The library was pleased to post a Facebook update letting people know that Libby was doing better, even though her health journey was not over.

“Thank you all for opening your hearts and wallets to assist Libby in paying her vet bills!” they wrote. “It is significantly affecting our ability to pay for her care!”

They were pleased to announce on GoFundMe that they had not only raised sufficient funds to guarantee her continued high-quality care but that they had also been able to use those funds to assist with the payment of her previous bills.
