Jokes aside, Downey’s gum seller truly believes that multiple collectors will vie for the piece in the Hollywood star’s mouth.

 The actor’s used chewing gum sold for (warning!) $40,000 at auction.

 A man who was lucky enough to find such a treasure put it up for sale on eBay, according to the New York Post.

He assures those who doubt the veracity of his findings that everything will be confirmed by testing for the presence of the actors’ DNA, if necessary.

 Chewing gum, priced to match money, also has a story.

 According to the seller (and this has been confirmed), Robert Downey Jr. glued a used chewing gum to his friend Jon Favreau’s star on his Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

Its current owner, who admitted to having happened to be nearby, definitely had an entrepreneurial spirit and didn’t hesitate to pick it up.
