Danny O’Connor, a London-based zoologist and photographer, spent three months in Northern Sweden, where she encountered an unusual incident.
The little girl went to the forest a lot, where she took pictures of squirrels in their natural environment. Danny was able to make friends with one of them. And as a result, the British woman was able to take numerous stunning pictures of the animal.
Danny came back to the forest one day and discovered that her forest girlfriend had been struck by a car. After placing the squirrel in a flower bush, she bid the animal a goodbye.
When Remi passed away, she left behind a whole brood of tiny squirrels that appeared to be no older than seven weeks. Danny talked to experts on wildlife. As they explained, the cubs would not be able to survive in the forest without their mother at this age. The girl started bringing them food and water every day. She spent four to six hours each day with the tiny creatures. Additionally, the animals quickly adjusted to both her and her voice. They took nuts from her hands after allowing Danny to get very close.
«I came to the backwoods early, when the squirrels were still sleeping,» says Danny. – I used to yell, “Where are you, children?” and when they awoke, they would rush to me. I gave them apples, pears, peanuts, sunflower seeds, and peanuts.
