You’ve probably heard the term “golden retriever energy” used to describe someone who is overexcited and upbeat. What about the other kinds of dog energies, though?
It is hilarious to watch Sarah Bergmark’s (@sarabergmark_comedy, a user on TikTok) decision to investigate the various kinds of “dog energies” that people possess.
She explained in the video: Everyone loves to say that someone has the energy of a golden retriever, but I think we should also say that they have the energy of a different kind of dog. Because, you know, I feel like I meet those people a lot more often.
She continues by saying, “That’s the underdog but the one that you’re like still down to hook up with,” as she discusses the energy of pugs. Because, in your mind, “No, he has such pug energy.” As I don’t have the foggiest idea. He has a certain quality about him—he’s quirky, and he can’t breathe well, but I know he has a good heart.
She says, “Like, this is the guy who always interrupts the conversation and buys you a drink at the bar that you don’t want.” That, like, is a rat terrier. Yes, he had the energy of a rat terrier, which was scary.
