It breaks a heart to see hungry animals running around looking for food. After a tasty treat, your beloved pets sleep soundly in their cozy beds, but many stray dogs, including young puppies, struggle every day to survive.
Recently, in the pouring rain, a woman in Romania saw a starving puppy on the side of the road looking for food. She couldn’t ignore the miserable animal because she was a rescue veterinarian.
June Chapman, a spokesperson for 1 Dog At A Time Rescue, shared, “Denisa, our wonderful vet, was driving back from seeing family.” She stopped to feed the stray animals on her way home, as she always does, and she saw a frail little pup that was so small and thin that she could see that he needed a lot of care and that the speeding cars were putting his life in danger.
The woman finally got close to the dog after making several attempts. The veterinarian’s gentle gestures made the animal appear to be moved, despite the animal’s initial fear. The hero chose to name the little guy Toby.
The puppy required immediate medical attention because he was so small and weak. As a result, Denisa quickly transported him to the shelter where she worked. The poor dog, Toby, who was just one or two months old at the time, is now staying at the shelter and waiting for a new home. He won’t have to stoop in the pouring rain to find food anymore.
Fortunately, Little Toby is now secure at the clinic with our veterinarian Denisa, where he will receive all necessary care, according to Chapman. Until he is old enough to travel to the UK, he will be cared for in a foster home.
